MEDICOF & MEDICOF DS COUGH SYRUP Ambroxol HCl, Terbutaline Sulphate, Guaifenesin & Menthol Syrups
Composition : Each 5 ml of Medicof cough syrup contains of Ambroxol HCl 15 mg, Terbutaline Sulphate 1.25 mg, Guaifenesin 50 mg & Menthol 2.5 mg.
Each 5 ml Of Medicof DS cough syrup contains of Ambroxol HCl 30 mg, Terbutaline Sulphate 2.5 mg, Guaifenesin 100 mg & Menthol 5 mg.
Indications : For clinical relief of cough associated with bronchitis, bronchial asthma, emphysema and other bronchopulmonary disorders where bronchospasm, mucous plugging and problems of expectoration co-exist.
Contraindications : Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formulation. It should not be used in patients with pre-existing ischaemic heart disease or those patients with significant risk factors for ischaemic heart disease. It is also contraindicated in patients with gastric ulceration.
Adverse Effects : Tremor, headache, tachycardia, palpitations, muscle spasms and hypocalcaemia, nervousness, somnolence, dizziness, anxiety, insomnia, extra systoles ventricular, vasodilatations, nausea, dry mouth, asthenia, sweating.
Dosage : Adults and children aged 12 years and over: 10 ml three to four times a day.
Children under 6 to 12 years:
5 ml three to four times a day.
Children under 2 to 6 years:
2.5 ml to 5 ml three to four times a day.
